I have been working on a project at my home for the past two yrs to reproduce the Disney Tower of Terror Basement elevator set at my home. It has involved multiple professionals to create and build the set, the many many props, the automation/programming and trouble-shooting. Honestly I have been very pleased with the result, although the integration of all the rencent props being developed including a replica of the front entrance Tower of Terror sign complete with fiberoptics, a 25 foot wide projection-mapped light and laser show, and many other props is still pending, but I am hoping this will happen soon. Here is a link to one of the recent shows.

Now the final goal is to incorporate a final prop which I believe will make the show incorporate the last aspect of the real Tower of Terror ride not currently included, and that is movement and the elevator drop.
So I am looking to have a compact 4-person moving vehicle. I think there are 2 major components to the project. The first is the moving platform which I would want to be able to move around the room (including through a narrow opening with 2" margins on either side) and rotate to view things/objects in the set and the second is to build a small version of the elevator ride vehicle to sit upon the moving platform. I believe the company that built the existing set and some props can certainly build the elevator replica that sits on top of the moving platform. Additional components of the elevator vehicle will include opening/closing elevator doors front and rear, interior sound system, butt-shakers in the seating and multiple OLED TVs that can be moved into view and out of view when the elevator doors open. These electronic components and control I believe I can accomplish using people that have already worked on the project. The main challenge in the moving platform which can be automated to move, turn and maneuver and drop as programmed. I think the best I can do as far as the elevator drop is a 6" drop platform available from retailers such as Fright Props. I think the maximum budget I could spend would be on the order of $100,000 with my guess of 40K for the elevator replica and electronics and 60K for the automated autonomous moving vehicle. I have reached out to the local university engineering department offering to fund the work as a student project, but did not receive a response. I am not sure where else I might look for people who might complete such a project. Is this doable on my maximum stated budget?
