Ok so for comicon im makeing a costume for a female joker. I really wanted a wow factor so I thought of replicating the hidden dagger shoes we have seen joker use but instead of boots I wanted to use a pair of heels. They are tuxedo heels and are stilettos. And just incase you don't know about stilettos they have an incredibly thin sole. So fitting a plastic dagger is a bit of a challenge. My idea was to cut out a small slit in the bottom of the sold all the way through. Around 1/3 of an inch or so. I would take a fake plastic blade and remove it from what ever handle it was on and attach a small knob of some kind. I would then place it in the shoe and take and in sole or a peice of foam, hallow that out for the dagger and hot glue it to the inside of the shoe over the dagger. I would cut a slit in the front of it for the blade and pray to God it works. The idea is that I could slide my foot back and the nob sticking through the 1/3 inch slot would catch on the ground and pull out the dagger. Kind of like a box cutter design. And in order to make up for the room the foam and dagger would take I would buy the shoes in a bigger size. I'm wondering if you guys think this will work? I'm worried that my weight might affect the daggers ability to slide out, as would the resistance the foam would put on it. So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas? If this will work? Or if someone knows of a better way of going about this? Thanks so much!!
