I wasn't all that keen on seeing the Thor movie when it was first advertised... I guess I couldn't imagine what a super hero could possibly do with a metal hammer. When I finally did see it (on Lovefilm), I really got into it and watched the film several times before returning the disc several weeks later. I don't know if anyone has done Thor's hammer as a fan-made prop replica before, but decided to give it a go as I believe I will be able to add something unique to my version of the prop. Please stay tuned with this build and see what I have in store! Here's the official screen-used piece: Attachments:

Thor was ok in my opinion. I'd like to see how you go about building this prop, I'm still learning myself, so any tips are always good to see. I'm mainly just curious about what you mean by something unique? Are you going to tell us what you have in store?

But what effects? I'm still confused as to what you mean by this. Are you talking about lightning coming out of it? You could maybe set up a mini telsa coil inside the hammer and have electricity coming out of it. Here's a vid of one:

Nice idea, but I don't know much about building one of those, and I doubt I'd get a big enough spark display from a unit small enough to fit inside the hammer. I actually have several ideas in mind which I hope to combine to create multiple effects.
