I know all will say there is nothing out there, but we have just stepped on the moon and plan on going to mars in the near future, so the idea of travelling among the stars is not at all a far fetched idea. To date, we don't have much information about our universe. Some say the universe is infinite, some say it is not. Life certainly seems possible if the conditions are right to start it up, so could intelligent life exist out there, such as it does on Earth? Onlt a few hundred of the millions of planets out there has been discovered and catagorized, and among those found, there're some Earth-like planets among them that could support life in some form or another. My question is what will we do in the event of an alien invasion? Are there any set of protocols in place to prevent this, or are we likely to get our asses kicked no matter what we do?

Yeah...we get our asses kicked! *Joking* I saw a program discussing this, and mentioned a lot about Independence Day. I remember some guy saying that if an intelligent alien race turned up on our doorstep one morning, whom would obviously have the technology to travel across the stars..then...we wouldn't have a chance in hell! We would be dead meat, as simple as that really! Forget going to Area 51 and getting into a captured alien ufo, then planting a virus into their computer system. That would never ever work. ID4 is very far fetched, and has so many flaws, but I still love it! It's a cool summer blockbuster and the effects are awesome!

I think it would be fascinating to see how the human race would react to an event such as this. Imagine looking out of you bedroom window one morning wondering what all the noise is about outside, then looking up to see something huge just hanging there in the sky. That would surely be a historical moment!
A giant spaceship just hovering above your own hometown would be such an amazing thing to see. I imagine people sitting out in the gardens all day (or all week seeing as nobody would go into work) and just gazing up at it, wondering how something like that was constructed or even how the engines make it levitate so perfectly.
